Cinnamon Apple Crisp À La Mode

The flavor of fall brought right to your kitchen

It's officially October! How in the world did that happen?

I’m not too mad about it though because that means that I can make my all time favorite dessert... Apple Crisp 🍎 🥧 🤤

This Cinnamon Apple Crisp is jam-packed with sliced apples, warm spices, and a crispy oat topping 🍎

It’s such a simple dessert that you can throw together really any time of the year! An added bonus? Your house will smell amazing while this is baking in the oven 😉

Apple Crisp is one of those recipes that a lot of people have in their personal recipe book. I had a few recipes from family members and family friends but didn't love any of them. So I went rouge and made my own from scratch!

I loved the “sauce” that the apples get coated in before the crumble topping goes on them. It's a mix of vanilla, sugar and cinnamon that coats the apples perfectly!

Apple Crisp Tips

  • If you are serving a crowd, this recipe can easily be doubled and cooked in a 9×13” pan.

  • Make sure the apples are soft under the topping for full flavor!

  • Rotate the pan halfway through for an even bake

Makes: 8 servings

𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦

• 5-6 medium apples, peeled and sliced

• 3 T sugar

• 2 t cinnamon

• 1 t vanilla

• 1.5 c brown sugar, packed

• 3/4 c old fashioned oats

• 3/4 c flour

• 1 stick cold butter, diced

• Pinch of salt

• Ice cream (optional)

• Whipped cream (optional)

𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

1. Preheat oven to 350℉ and prepare cast iron skillet OR spray 13x9 pan with PAM or other nonstick spray.

2. In a medium bowl, add apples, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix together until apples are well coated and evenly spread into prepared pan.

3. In the same bowl, gently mix brown sugar, oats, flour, butter, and salt and evenly spread on top of apples in pan.

4. Bake for 30-45 minutes, until apples are soft and topping crisps. Rotate at 25 minutes for an even bake.

5. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream and enjoy!
